Introduction to Ideal Kitchen Monitor
Ideal Kitchen Monitor has been developed to work with Idealpos 6.0 and above.
Throughout this User Guide, Ideal Kitchen Monitor is referred to as IKM.
IKM is able to be installed in a variety of configurations, from Stand Alone to Server/Client setups.
Ideal Kitchen Monitor allows for orders that would normally be printed to the Kitchen, to be displayed on a monitor that will show multiple orders at any one time.
Whilst commonly used in Fast Food and Takeaway businesses, these are also starting to be used in restaurants and cafes.
IKM is a good way to keep track of orders, as they won’t be lost and can be recalled if need be.
IKM has two different modes which are outlined below:
- Server - When IKM is configured as a Server, it will display a grid which will show a list of orders that have been received by the IKM. Each section on the grid represents an order that has been received. The Server mode is intended to be used in the Kitchen area where the Chefs can monitor the items that have been ordered and as they're prepared, the items can be marked off as done and when marked off as done, they will appear with a strike-through going through the text to indicate the item has been cooked/prepared.
- Client - When IKM is configured as a Client, it is simply used to receive ready orders from the IKM Server and those ready orders will be displayed on the IKM Client screen. An IKM Client can typically be installed on a system connected to a wall-mounted screen or monitor and it will cycle through the list of orders that are ready for collection by the Customer. It can show the Customer name and/or Order Number on the screen and this will inform the customer that their order is now ready for collection.
